瑞典和中國一樣實行九年義務教育，但大多說學生會繼續讀三年高中，之后會有約三分之一的學生進入高等教育深造。瑞典教育質量很高，共有14所綜合公立大學，20所大學學院和3所基金會大學（查爾慕斯理工大學，延雪平大學和斯德哥爾摩經濟學院）。 瑞典的本科一般是三年制。對于中國學生來說，申請進入瑞典名校的本科比其他要求高考成績的國家，要相對簡潔很多。對于中國高中生只需要高中畢業（或高三在讀），有會考成績單，高中成績單，就具備了進入瑞典名校的基本資格。雅思成績達到6.0-6.5，就有機會直接進入瑞典高校學習。
